Traditionally, Easter candles are lit in Catholic churches at Easter.
The Easter candle is lit for the first time on Easter Sunday and then during every Eucharistic celebration of the Easter period, namely from Easter to Pentecost. After Pentecost, the Paschal candle is used on the occasion of a baptism or funeral. This means that the Paschal candle is used during the entire liturgical year. There are different motifs on the Easter candle. Apart from the light symbol (I am the light of the world. The letter Alpha and Omega and the liturgical year are also applied to the Paschal candle. The Easter nails can also be applied. The Easter nails can also be applied in the middle and on the 4 ends of the cross.
